Sushi Zanmai recommended by Chubby Hubby on his blog not long ago. I found one of Sushi Zanmai outlet at Tsukiji market. The place is packed with enthusiast sushi lovers, and some of them are tourists (just like us). Sushi Zanmai is one of the popular sushi chain in Tokyo and you will find it's outlets at all the convenient location like Ginza, Shibuya and Roppongi.
We have to wait for around 15 minutes before we got our seat at the sushi counter. What I like from my experience here is that we were served personally by the sushi chef.
We were given a wooden serving plate topped with wasabi and ginger pickles. The sushi are very very fresh & juicy, I can't describe how fresh and how good it was. I should have video myself eating them for you to see but that won't happen haha. I had bluefin tuna belly sushi which is a signature dish of Sushi Zanmai, I still prefer the salmon sushi.
This is also my first time having sushi such early in the morning, it was just around 9am when we had our sushi meal. It took a while to tell my body "hey it's ok, you will be happy to meet all the fantastic sushi here". One advise from me to avoid long queue at eating place especially around Tsukiji market, go as early as you can as during lunch time can be quite packed with people and you probably have to wait an hour or so to get a table/ a seat. So I think we made a right choice to have the sushi at 9am.
